Finally I have decided to venture into learning GIT – an open source distributed source code management software which is gaining in popularity for quite some  time. Of course one of the most highlights of this tool is that it is written by Linus Torvalds – the person behind writing and developing Linux kernel itself! So a software/utility from a man of that stature has to have something extra-ordinary in it. So my desire to learn GIT. The beauty of GIT is that you can use it for any kind of software development project and not just development of Linux kernel, which as the original intention as to why GIT was written. Basically the Linux kernel team wanted to move away from BITKeeper because of some license/proprietary software issues.

Part 1: Installing GIT on Debian Linux

Part 2: Install GITWEB to host repository on Apache web-server
